AR Rahman’s son and playback singer AR Ameen narrowly escaped serious harm after his car met with an accident in Chennai early Monday morning. The Ameen accident has shocked fans, but the singer and his friend are safe with only minor injuries.
Accident Details
According to official reports, Ameen was traveling from Koyambedu towards Guindy in his Porsche around 3:30 AM on Monday when the accident occurred. Near the Olympia Tech Park signal at Guindy’s Kathipara flyover, a Wagon R cab collided with his vehicle.
The impact was severe enough to damage both vehicles significantly. However, both Ameen and his friend Bhargav, who was accompanying him, escaped with only minor injuries. The occupant of the Wagon R also sustained injuries in the collision.
Medical Update and Family Response
Following the accident, all injured parties received immediate medical attention. The cab driver was admitted to Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital and was discharged after treatment. Ameen and his friend also received medical care and have since returned home safely.
AR Rahman’s daughter Khatija Rahman shared an update on social media, thanking fans for their concern and confirming that her brother is doing well. The reassuring update brought relief to fans who were worried after news of the Ameen accident spread.

The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing has seized both vehicles involved in the accident and registered a case to investigate the incident thoroughly. Authorities are examining the circumstances that led to the collision at the busy Guindy junction.
